Happy New Year!
Upon their return to school, students received their midterm exams and were asked to correct all mistakes by Tuesday, January 11.
Overall, as first-time exam-takers, the class scored according to a bell curve, with the majority of students in a B- range. For a variety of reasons, I commend the class for their efforts.
While the exam was worth 100 points, students will receive upto 50 points (the value of a unit test to start Quarter 3) for completing all the necessary corrections. The objective sections (50%) and rewriting necessary essays (50%). To receive full credit, students must turn in the original exam with their corrections and parent signature.
On Wednesday and Thursday, middle school students participated by class in the National Geographic Bee, sponsored annually by National Geographic and Google. The preliminary Competition consists of seven rounds. Stayed-tuned for the announcement of finalists.
